Mutual Housing at Spring Lake Phase One, Woodland, CA: Zero-Net Energy Farmworker Housing

December 2017:  Mutual Housing at Spring Lake wins 2017 World Habitat-United Nations award

Mutual Housing at Spring Lake Phase One has been honored as the first multi-family project in the nation certified under the Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home program. These sustainably designed LEED Platinum apartment units plus their associated photovoltaic systems are so efficient that the residents have no natural gas systems and pay almost nothing for electricity. Construction was completed in early 2015.

Bridge District Phase 4, West Sacramento, CA: Infill Housing

Bridge District Phase 4 is the next step in the exciting development in West Sacramento. University River Village, Sacramento, CA: Student Housing

New five-story housing for Sac State students. Adjacent the American River bike trail and the American River parkway. Only a 3 minute bike ride from Sac State. The project is located on an unused acre of an existing apartment project.

The Marq, Sacramento, CA: Student Center

New student center for 550 units of Sacramento State University student housing. Includes a new leasing office, student lounges and study areas, fitness center, swimming pool and sports court. Direct access to American River Bike Trail. Construction was completed in 2017.

Courtyard Seniors Apartments, Manteca, CA: Senior Housing

Walking distance from Little Chico Creek, these apartments for active seniors will backfill an empty parcel adjacent an existing assisted living facility. Compact one and two bedroom apartments surround a landscaped courtyard. All units are elevator accessible. There is a common demonstration kitchen, a fitness room and a common dining area.

Phoenix, Sacramento, CA: New Fitness Center and Remodel of Community Facility

This renovation of the community center for an existing garden apartment project includes a new swimming pool and beach volleyball court. Construction was completed in 2016.

Alvarado Apartments, Davis, CA: Market-Rate Apartments

We took an underutilized parking area and converted it into nine units of contemporary student housing for UC Davis students.

Winn Park Lofts, Sacramento, CA: Market-Rate Apartments

Midtown Sacramento is an exciting place to live, work and play. This project, located at 2813 Q Street, tucks 9 units onto a slender standard sized parcel while complementing the historic surroundings. Two-story townhomes are stacked above first level studios. All units have ground level private entrances. The front yard setback has been designed as a courtyard to complement the architectural design and provide outdoor leisure space for the residents.  Construction completed 2018.

New Harmony, Davis, CA: Affordable Apartments, Site Planning

New Harmony, an affordable and sustainable residential project in Davis, California received an exceptionally high GreenPoint Rating of 197 points. After having participated in visioning gatherings with local residents, Kuchman Architects collaborated with a variety of other consultants in the development this 80% net-zero energy project. The dwelling units have been oriented to take advantage of the prevailing delta breezes for improved air quality and the passage of the sun across the southern sky to brighten the interiors. All units within the project are accessible to the disabled. Construction was completed in February 2013.
